About

Josephine MacIntosh, PhD | Professional Researcher / Independent Consultant

Josephine MacIntosh founded In Context Eldercare Monitoring & Solutions in 2018, in response to challenges experienced before, during, and after her Mother was placed in long-term residential care 3-plus hours away from any family. Her goal is to assist families who find themselves in similarly challenging positions. She is an innovative and creative thinker, and approaches challenging situations with optimism, seeing each challenge as an opportunity to understand and improve individual, social or cultural conditions.

Josephine’s research experience, excellent communication skills, and keen eye and ear for detail, allow her to help clients identify and develop workable solutions for complex problems.  She is down-to-earth, nonjudgmental, has a genuine and caring nature, and good humour. She is also professional, discreet, ethical, and possesses a strong desire to help other families come together to ensure the safety of their aging loved one(s).

Dr. MacIntosh received her PhD (Sociology, Psychology, and Anthropology) from the University of Victoria in 2007 and engaged in post-doctoral training through the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine. She has an extensive background in health research and education, received several prestigious scholarships, and gained international recognition for her work.
